 Project#3 And Semester End Reflections

    The reading from unit seven tells people how to see the whole picture of things from different perspective. The two articles help us to understand the pros and cons of capital punishment. Besides of the human right or the thinking of comfort the victim, the social welfare should also be considered. People hold their own opinion, and it is hard to judge who is right or wrong, the important things is to believe what you believe.    

    In the presentation of project three, there is two groups that gives me impress images. First is Group2, they have a clear structure of this topic, and I was impressed by their organization. By putting those words into graphics on the PowerPoint they make people have more understanding on the topic. The other one is group 4, I was surprised that they connect the medical prove of brain with the death penalty. Using clear constructor to explain the issue, and shows many social cases that make us to think the meaning of the death penalty.  

    Before project three, I had never discussed the death penalty with others or other courses. That is because I do not want to judge things that I cannot be one hundred percent sure of to others. I can totally understand the reason why people against or support the death penalty, and even looking back the history. But still, I could not stand either side firmly, it is a dilemma question for me or maybe for everyone.

    In this semester, we done three project for intermediate course. The first is the cover letter that teach us how to prepare our resume. Second, we read the article about the pollution on fragile land, it raises our alert. In addition, we did a lot of research to find a way to protecting our earth. For the last project, I work with my group member to discuss the death penalty.

    Since the covid-19 getting unpredictable and out of control, the government telling people to avoid unnecessary activity, then our university started to do online course in the middle of this semester. It is a relief that we can do stay at home instead of exposing ourselves under the dangerous, but the online course might let us feel more uncomfortable than before. The problem of taking online courses is it becoming more complicate. For example, the second language course that I took is hard to learn the right pronouncement through the screen, because teacher could not see you directly. And since we can go online anytime, it means we can look for answer through the exam without being notice, so the exam that teacher gave us become more difficult than usual. Beside of these, the biggest problem is to do an report with group member without seeing each other, it slow our schedule and use more time on discuss online and they might give some wrong message sometimes.

    Besides of the problem of online courses, I still feel very thankful to have Taimin to be my teacher. She taught us many thing in the course, either the advice for lifetime or the suggest for rest of our semester, and the most important things is that she cares about everyone in this class. She always very known every student’s condition and try her best to teach us, always help whenever we have question or problem. Above all, I really enjoy this course a lot and actually learn how to write better.
