Project#3 and Semester Reflection
Before we started to work on Project#3, the teacher takes us to the library and tells us how to find the information on the website. It does help me a lot with searching information while I’m studying. Me and my group members used the library website to search for issues of different gender. We read an article, the writer mentioned that women can be more sensitive than men and men prefer to use curse words than women do. In this generation, people nowadays may be accustomed to being treated equally, but actually we mentally might accept the concept that women are weaker than men do in a physical way. I was amazed by how education and words influence us on gender or maybe something that happened in real life but we didn’t notice.
There are three groups that I am very impressed by. One of them is Group1, I am very impressed by their organization. They give us great examples and they put those graphics on the PowerPoint to help us get more understanding of the topic. Second, Group2 has a clear structure of this topic, making us know the point directly. They did a good job in contrast and even compared with different countries. Finally and actually impress the most, the Group4. Their topic is Mars. They give us very clear contents and use pictures to get us to have a better understanding of the knowledge of Mars. In Addition, they brought up the topic about the possibilities of human living on Mars. Group4 even gave us some experiment examples that humans already did on search. Above all, I think each group did a great job and gave us a lot of information on different things.
My original expectation about this class is to improve my writing skill, maybe learning to have more vocabulary in writing or improve my grammar. After this semester, we have done three projects. The project that makes me most proud of it, it must be project2. In this project, I wrote down the fraud experience that happened to my friend. This is the one that the teacher didn’t modify too much, and say commend about. When it comes to which project that I want to improve, the project3 must be the one that I want to put more work on. Since the project3 is group writing, so I can’t organize menber’s thinking really well, and the PowerPoint too, I think we just do the separate part and put it together, even though we did work on it together. The most differences compare to me in September and now, I think it is knowing how to organize my writing more. I have learned how to give points directly by deleting things that are extra. I did change my point of view about writing, and still trying to work on it better. In the beginning of this semester, I did not get used to the teacher’s teaching method, I couldn’t follow the speed that class goes and so on. But I understand that this is for us to have better learning on writing, so I put more work on this course and did learn something eventually. Hoping to learn more next semester.
